Asizwe Hearing Solutions is a Black African Audiologist Owned and operated organisation that seeks to use clinical, research and context specific experience in the device and equipment sector of hearing healthcare, to advocate for a decrease in accessibility challenges especially affordability. The long term goal for Asizwe Hearing Solutions is to develop, design, manufacture, distribute and service devices and equipment on African soil, by, for and with Africans.
Hearing Healthcare in Africa
Hearing Healthcare and Audiology services are much needed in Low and
Middle Income countries. However, access to robust, affordable, digital,
person-centred, portable and high technology solutions has been limited. This is partly due to the lack of African
based organisations that can create for, by and with Africans. Most of hearing healthcare from training models to devices is imported from the global north and thus expensive. In turn, the end user, the majority of Africans are not able to access quality hearing healthcare unless they can afford private healthcare.
